Penderwicks revisited

So I finally read the book.. and I liked it. Sweet, comfortingly WASPy goodness that reminds me of the stories my parents used to tell when they would go to the East coast for vacation as children and then college students. The characterizations were spot on for my family, and there was a feeling of nostalgia that kept me thinking about the stoy long after I put it down.

I think for many children though, this book resembles a sort of Harry Potter fantasy novel.
